Carmel Shiel
Teacher of Business
Carmel joined Dulwich International High School as Teacher of Business in August 2023.
Carmel graduated from University of Teesside, Middlesbrough, England with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Administration, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from University of Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England.
After completing her PGCE in Huddersfield, Carmel started her teaching career at Southampton City College for 3 years. She then moved to South East Derbyshire College to teach A Level for 6 years. After that, she decided to pursue an International teaching career in 2008, and moved to Qatar in the Middle East to teach at the Gulf English School for 3 years and then to China in which she taught at two International Schools in Ningbo and Beijing. She have also taught in Vietnam for two years.
Carmel has been teaching for over twenty years in which she has co-ordinated and taught students on several programmes, which include The Advanced Placement, IGCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate Programme.
Carmel enjoys walking and she has started to learn to play the guitar.
